General Studies

The comprehensive college preparatory general studies program is designed to prepare students for entry into college and the workplace. Our teaching staff works collaboratively to create a customized learning environment tailored to meet the needs of all students. Courses are regularly reviewed to enhance the content and the staff is provided with resources to ensure that teachers are applying best strategies in the classroom. Recently, courses have been updated to include focused writing in English classes, integration of graphing calculators in the math and science curriculum, and new computer applications such as In Design and QuickBooks.
Every year students take classes in English, history, mathematics, science, and computer applications. In addition, Bais Yaakov has partnered with Quincy College to offer dual enrollment courses in American History, Western Civilization, and computer applications. Junior and senior students may opt to receive both high school and college credit for successfully completing those courses.
